Time to Celebrate 2022
A beautiful sunny, slightly windy but warm late afternoon found us trundling an esky down the footpath to Riverbend Park to secure one of the well equipped BBQ shelters, battling the pesky seagulls intent on cleaning up the leftovers from the previous after school visitors.
It’s that time of year again to celebrate the year that was and hold our end of year Teen Challenge Tasmania Team, Participant and Supporters Christmas BBQ. The setting was perfect for everyone, casual, open, great for kids, families and pretty.
Team members and participants from all our areas of ministry were present, Hope Costumes & Thrift Store, Arrowsmith Program, Connections Mentoring, Meaningful Arts and NotEvenOnce. Prayer partners, sponsors, friends and families all getting together to relax, eat yummy food, including some very special platters and salads from Green Bean Cafe and catch up together.
Thank you everyone for coming along, especial thanks to Irene and Jill (aka my Mum) for cooking the BBQ for us. These lovely ladies are often found on a Monday morning at Bunning North Launceston cooking up a storm during one of our fundraising Sausage Sizzles so we were definitely in good hands. Thanks Charlotte for taking photos for us to remember the event.
When we were setting up a lovely lady and her kids popped into the area, we got talking and as it turned out she was a mum that had attended Kinder gym at my Church and knew quite a few people that were going to be there. She had told us how tough things were at the moment and she wasn’t sure what they were going to do for dinner, so they were invited to stay and join us. It was great to see the reconnection made and kids playing together.
Peter and I can never Thank everyone enough for everything you do for this ministry. Besides Jesus, without you, we simply could not do what we do and help as many people that are helped and connected with via Teen Challenge Tasmania’s many aspects. This was a simple way of saying thanks and showing you our appreciation. Blessings to you all and have a very Merry Christmas this year.
