#NotEvenOnce - Vaping - Educating the Educators

This month we conducted two Free Vaping Information and Q&A Webinars specifically for School staff around Australia with participants in WA, NSW, QLD, TAS, SA & VIC. Vaping is of significant concern and is rapidly being uptaken by young people all around Australia.

With many myths and misinformation around Vaping and the very real impacts use has, including the emergence of a new disease for mankind through the use of vape, E-Cigarette & Vaping Aquired Lung Injuries (EVALI) is not broadly understood. We have a mission to help educate the school staff around Australia in this space so that even if we cannot get in front of every single young person in every school in Aust at least we can ensure the school staff have access to relevant information now.

We commenced our webinars with an anonymous poll asking staff about Vaping and some of their experiences. 95% of participants have witnessed young people vaping on school grounds, 15% in the classroom and 80% of the participants have experienced young people “Dealing” in vapes in their schools. Our teachers are front line in this space and must be equipped to counter this in conversations and situations.
